Overview: Histogram layer(s) serve as method to incorporate statistical context within deep learning models. Statistical texture approaches have been vital for several applications including automatic target recognition, remote sensing image classification, medical image diagnosis, and crop quality management. We are developing novel algorithms and histogram-based models to improve target classification in passive sonar data.
