• Congratulations to Dr. Joshua Peeples for being selected as a Visiting Scientist for Summer 2025 with MIT Lincoln Laboratory! Dr. Peeples will be working with Group 37: Advanced Undersea Systems and Technology.

Congratulations to our lab members Jack Gauderman, Logan Garcia, and Angelina Ibarra on securing exciting summer internships! Jack will be interning at Sandia National Laboratories, Logan at IBM, and Angelina at the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI). We are proud of their accomplishments and look forward to seeing all they achieve this summer!

Congratulations to our labmate Jarin Ritu on being selected to attend the STAQ Quantum Ideas Summer School, taking place June 9–13, 2025 at Duke University in Durham, NC! This fully funded program, supported by the National Science Foundation, introduces students to key topics in quantum information science through lectures, hands-on workshops, and networking with leading researchers and peers in the field. Congratulations to our labmate Angelina Ibarra and Dr. Joshua Peeples on presenting at the 2025 SPIE Defense + Commercial Sensing Algorithms for Synthetic Aperture Radar Imagery XXXII! Angelina and Dr. Peeples presented our collaborative work with Sandia National Laboratories on anomaly detection in SAR.

Congratulations to our labmate, Atharva Agashe, for passing his Master’s Thesis Defense! Yash presented his work on “Learnable Adaptive Cosine Estimator for Self-Supervised Environmental Sound Classification.” Great job Atharva!

Our group had a great time presenting at Night at the ZACH during the Texas Science & Engineering Fair (TXSEF)! We showcased interactive demos on AI-powered object detection and anomaly detection, giving students a hands-on look at how AI can “see” and learn from the world around it. Thanks to TXSEF for the opportunity to inspire the next generation of STEM leaders!

Congratulations to Aditya Biradar and Jack Gauderman for presenting at the Undergraduate Research Scholars Symposium! Aditya and Jack shared our collaborative work with Baylor University on “Learning from Limited Data: Investigation of Machine Learning Algorithms for Light Microscopy Image Analysis.”
