AVLL presents at 2024 AI in Agriculture and Natural Resources Conference!

Congratulations to our labmates, Akshatha Mohan, Yash Zambre, Uday Vysyaraju, Kosi Ezewudo, and Jason Champage, for giving excellent presentations and leading a workshop on our AgriLife sponsored project at the 2024 AI in Agriculture and Natural Resources Conference! Akshatha also placed 2nd out of 59 submissions for the poster competition!

Lacunarity Pooling Layers for Plant Image Texture Analysis Accepted to 2024 IEEE/CVF CVPR Workshop on Vision for Agriculture!

Congratulations to our labmates, Akshatha Mohan and Joshua Peeples, for the paper acceptance to the IEEE/CVF Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Workshop on Vision for Agriculture (V4A)! In this work, we present a lacunarity pooling layer for plant image classification. The paper will be presented on during the V4A poster session. Check out the code and paper here!

Jack Gauderman and Jason Champagne selected for internships with Sandia National Laboratories!

Congratulations to our labmates, Jack Gauderman and Jason Champagne, for securing internships with Sandia National Laboratories for Summer 2024. Jack and Jason will be AI in Autonomy Interns in the Autonomous Sensing and Control Department working on machine learning algorithm development.

Angelina Ibarra selected for internship with Oceaneering International Inc.!

Congratulations to our labmate, Angelina Ibarra, for securing an internship with Oceaneering International Inc. for Summer 2024. Angelina will be a Software Engineering Intern in the ocean technology division. Her duties will include writing software for production, and test tools; testing software products; and learning about underwater technologies and how they relate to software design choices. She is excited to gain hands-on experience and learn from a company that specializes in ocean technologies.

Lucian Chauvin selected for internship with Lawrence Livermoore National Laboratory!

Congratulations to our labmate, Lucian Chauvin, for securing an internship with  Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL)! Lucian will a high-performance research computing intern with LLNL. In this position, he will be researching new software that can be used for scientific endeavors on some of the most powerful computing machines in the world. Lucian is excited to join the team of scientists at LLNL that “pursues bold and innovative science and technology”.
